Ready-Set-Bumbo
In a comment on my Bimba fleet, Sarah (whose kids blog I already linked to in an earlier post) pointed out this excellent site Ready-Set-Bumbo. The Bumbo is a baby seat that allows babies who are not-quite-there-yet to sit up for themselves and see the world from a different perspective. I'm sure that the Feldenkrais people think it's terrible, but the Ready-Set-Movies are very funny.

Park Hayarkon
There is a large green (well green and brown) park in the northern part of the city called Park Hayarkon (all right, almost all of the 17 people reading this know that, but there are a few who don't). This morning, we called Liya's brother Ido and arranged to meet him there. The kids were all together in their bimba fleet and after a grueling hike of many tens, perhaps even hundreds, of meters we settled down to a well deserved picnic. Mikael was soon full and spent the rest of the picnic trying to snag unattended boxes of food so he could turn the contents out onto the grass and then crawl in them.
Trip north: Cahal
Like Ayala already posted, Anat had bunches of people over for a great lunch. We missed a lot of great pictures, but we did pull the camera out when Mike started holding Mikael. Liya also got a lovely shot of all the cameras focused on the little kids that were there.

Trip north: standing
Mikael has been beginning to stand on his own for brief seconds here and there. He was practicing by the swimming pool and we caught it with the camera. What you see are 'before' and 'after' pictures where the key issue is the location of the right arm: using Liya's leg for support of standing and waving it in the air completely on his own two feet.

Trip north: inflatable swimming pool
I was interrupted by the 'vicissitudes of life' in the posting of our photos from the trip North. In the meantime, Ayala put up a bunch of great pictures from the lunch at Anat's place, and I'll get some of my own up for that as well. However, we couldn't move forward without documenting Mikael's first experience with an inflatable swimming pool. He was obviously not as familiar with the concept as Maya's Shaked and Yotam. They climbed in and out of the pool and played happily. He seemed to spend his time just taking it in and getting used to all the new sensations. That's very much like him. Then, once he'd gotten it all processed, he started to explore taking his naked self across the lawn to check out a flower.
