dance show at Magrit - vidio

The power of the ipad
The first night we were in Tampa, we went to a Hannuka party at my parent's synagogue. It was the standard thing for a Tampa synagogue Hannuka party (you've probably been to hundreds of these) with lighting of the giant outdoor menora, maoz tsur sung in English, games and levivot and a live music section including an open-mike segment. Mikael and I almost went up to sing sevivon sov sov sov, but he didn't want to in the end.
Anyway, the point is that last time we were at a party at the synagogue, Mikael didn't really connect with the other kids. I guess he just didn't feel like he knew anybody. This time, he whippe out the ipad, and he had a couple of friends in no time:

On the way to Tampa
Mikael and I took the long flights from Schiphol to Newark and from Newark to Tampa. We mostly watched movies the whole time, although we did do a little bit of mazes and we also played a little bit of chess.

Mikael in the snow
On the Sunday before Mikael and I flew to Tampa, we had a busy day. The morning was spent at the synagogue at a children's Channkah party. In the afternoon, Mikael went to the Discovery center to celebrate the birthday of Lucas, a kid from his class. Birthdays here are small -- 7 children, give or take -- and intimate. Mikael had a very nice time. Then, Thomas and Chantal, Lucas's parents, took all the birthday kids back from the Discovery center on the tram and deposited each in his home. We took Mikael in the car we borrowed from other friends -- Joost and Sandra -- and drove to Utrecht for the bithday party of Katinka, my hosts wife. We were late for the party, but there was still lots of yummy food. Most importantly, though, there was a lovely, fluffy white snowfall while we were there. Mikael and I went out with the camera. The video is a little dark, so I think a little description might help: first you see a shot, back into the house, of Liya changing Danielle's diapers; then, we see the snow clearly falling against the light of the lampost, finally, we see Mikael catching snow with his tongue.

dance show at the Magrit school
the kids have a realy good danse teacher, and she invited the parents for a show that they made.
on the first two pictured you can see Mikael and Davide sitting on the same point, after that Alexander joined them. at the end - Mikael won, and he was sitting very close to me so I could see how beautifull he danse.
in one of the dance, one kid was a -kerstboem, crismess tree, and the other kid decorated the tree. Mikael somehow ended up with two girls that he needed to decoret (the teacher helped him, becouse he did not want to decorate Kaitlin, he wanted to decoret only Moalena). And after that, the 2 girls decoreted him, it was very funny.
