Mikael's new bed
Mikael seems quite happy in his new bed. Mikael is pretty happy anywhere which gives him an easy way to stand up, though. Anyway, he is taking an afternoon nap in his bed right now.
We bought it from Noga Woodshop which is a family business run by a couple named Gili and Nir out of their house in Havatzelet. Visiting them was a lot of fun, and they were very sweet about everything. The bed can be separated from our bed using two clips and has a fourth railing that we can attach quite easily. We also talked to two other couples who make beds like this, Ramanama and Mitonet. They all seemed very nice, but in the end the Noga people had more of the combination fo things we were looking for.

Second day
After such a long and exhausting first day, Mikael spent most of his second day in Switzerland asleep. In fact, he was totally uninterested in the bottle and refused to eat until Liya was free to feed him. I didn't push it too much, so we mostly spent the day in the hotel room where he went from green shit back to the healthy yellow/orange and mostly just slept and slept.
In the afternoon, I tried to take him outside in the carrier and it went ok, but I decided pretty quickly that I hadn't dressed him warmly enough so we went back home with our tails between our legs. We did better in the evening and on the third day, as you'll see shortly.

Naps
The one of me and the ones of Liya are not on the same day, but there seems to be a special pleasure in taking photographs of your spouse sleeping next to your child. Actually, when I went to get the camera, Liya's hands were up in the goal-post pose, just like Mikael's but she had moved them by the time I got back.
After the bath
After the bath, Mikael and Netta and I hung out on the big bed and Mikael tried to get some sleep while Netta tried to entertain him and I tried to capture it all on the camera even though I was lying next to them. Mostly the camera ended up pointing the wrong direction and I got lots of pictures of Netta's hair or of the wall. Here's a few that came out nice.

Netta at Shlomo Hamelech 55
We wanted to get these pictures up as quickly as possible because we know that Gai is waiting to see pictures of Netta in the blog. In any case, it's great to have her here and Mikael seems so happy he could ... well ... sleep. Actually, Mikael just came back from some serious clothes shopping in the new tank, er stroller. He's often totally wiped after a long afternoon in the clothing stores of Shenkin.

Givat Ada Part II: The nap
After breakfast, our entire family took a long nap. We napped in the guest room with the airconditioning, and Mikael napped outside in the funny crib. Later he came inside to this makeshift bed. This picture is mine again.

Not sleeping
This is a great portrait of Mikael doing exactly what he does at bedtime. He seems to find himself at his most charming, quiet, focused, and easy-going right after bathtime. This is, sadly, the time that Liya and I are most ready to shut our eyes. It doesn't seem to bother him much. He's quite self-contained during those quiet hours in the middle of the night.

New toys
I was home along with Mikael all morning today. I gave him a bottle and another bottle and another bottle, and we enjoyed the 'university' and the crib and the bed and the new baby carrier that Ayala got us (which is very excellent). Finally, we left the house and went down to Shilav. Liya met us there, and together we bought a great new 'picture book' head protector for the bed. I think it's very cool so I put a picture of it here. (By the way, I saw this in Yoav's crib at Shula and Itamar's house and was really impressed so I decided we need one of our own).
Also, we organized the house a little bit and Mikael has his very own 'toy chest.' We're thinking it would be cool if his toy chest always stays approximately this size.

Opher and Mikael in bed
Liya really likes it when Mikael and I are both asleep at the same time. I'm not sure exactly why. In any case, last night was my first night taking a shift on feeding so Mikael and I were up from around 2:00 to 4:00 feeding and burping. Then, in the morning while Liya was brushing her teeth we took a nap together.
