Mayan Shahar went to Indigo to pick Mikael up a couple of days ago and took some great pictures of Mikael playing on the slide.

This was edited. When I first wrote it I said that Mayan Shahar had gone with Liya to the gan, but she was helping us out while Liya was working and picked up Mikael on her own.
Before dinner, all the kids enjoyed 'milky' treats. Hard to describe to the non-Israelis, but certainly a staple of any well balanced child's diet in Israel.

Yalli and Mikael look like they have come up with some sophisticated power sharing arrangement for their small kindgom.

Mayan Shahar took some really great pictures during Sukkoth at the Bril abode and, as usual, I had an awful time showing any editorial restraint. There is a long series of these to come.

On Friday night, while we were having a lovely dinner with Adi and Shiri, someone stole our bicycle seat. So, if anyone finds it or anything, we'd love to have it back. Of course, on Saturday you can't buy bicycle seats, so we were bike-free all of Saturday. Liya took the morning shift and she and Mikael walked up to Dubnov park where they met a 5 year old girl called Maya that Mikael was talking about for the rest of the day. Mikael had started playing with her toys without asking permission, and that caused some initial friction, but eventually (with just a tad of adult intervention) they got along quite nicely.
I took the afternoon shift and decided that Mikael and I would go down to the beach for yet another 'last day at the beach before summer is over' visit. We thought about using the Brompton and the Ergo to get down there (like in this post) but eventually decided to take the scooter (called a 'corquinet' in Hebrew) instead. We rode along for a while like you might imagine, with Mikael on my hip in the ergo and me on the scooter. Eventually, though, Mikael got bored of this and we tried different arrangements. My least favorite had Mikael lying with his belly on the foot plate and pushing the scooter along with his hands and knees. My favorite is the one pictured below. He balanced on the scooter like this for quite a while and I was so impressed that when a couple passed me and remarked on the situation, I asked them to take a picture with their cell phone camera.

Our camera is gone bust, so it's been a little hard to post recently. Maayan Shahar may have some great pictures from Sukkoth, but in the meantime we are using the built in camera on my laptop for a quick note. Apologies for the quality.
Mikael has been really enjoying trying out our shoes recently. Here he is in Liya's shoes which are a little easier for him to navigate than my sandals. He also really loves throwing things away when he's done with them and he only occasionally goes to the garbage to take them out again.
Another great anecdote (which he won't appreciate so much in about 12 years) is that when I put his diaper on he says bye-bye to his penis.

I've added English translations to all of Liya's posts from the Kibbutz up North over the last four days. Hate for anyone to miss out on any instant of our exciting lives. Well, anyway, I just thought it was fun to hear what Liya had to say.
