Saba Rami and Ishai

 My parents arrived on the day he was born. When I called them to let them know that he was born, they were already on the airplain just before takeoff. They celebreted with champagne ( 6 oclock in the morning)

Afternoon with the new baby

Once we got home, we all spent some time getting used to the new baby. Mikael is very happy about him. Danielle has mixed feelings. For instance, the idea that someone else was going to use her maxi-cosi or her baby carrier was very hard for her, but she really does love babies, so that makes it much better.

 

 

 

 

New baby!

Liya gave birth at 4:50 this morning. We called the kraamzorg at 12:30 and she came to see how we were doing, but told us that we still had some time and went home. We called her again at 3:26 and then again at 3:43. This time,we managed to impress her. She came by and checked Liya out and decided it was time to go. Lilien, our awesome babysitter, was sleeping downstairs (as she had been for the last two nights), and went upstairs to be with the kids. Cora, the midwife, took Liya in her car, and I followed behind in the bike. It was only about 30 minutes later that Liya gave birth at 4:50 this morning. After pictures and baby cleaning and the whole bit, I went home to be with the kids when they woke up. Lilien helped and we got them to their respective day care / summer camp, and I went home to sleep. At 10:30, I picked them both up in the bakfiets and we all went down to the hospital to get Liya and the baby.
