Kidz-club: the roller coaster

We went back to Kidz-club today, this time with a camera. There's a lot to do there, but we spent most of our time at two key attractions. The first was the roller coaster. Seen here in real time and then in heart-stopping time lapse photography, this is not for the weak-hearted parent!

The flight

It's hard to feel like taking a lot of pictures during the flight, but we were blessed with some truly photographable moments that even I couldn't overlook. First of all, we met Melody from Los Angeles in the check-in line in Tel Aviv. She and Mikael hit it off right away and they played uga uga and sang itsy bitsy spider together and ran around a lot and squealed.

Melody and Mikael had totally non-overlapping times of wakefullness on the long flight, so the next time we actually saw Melody was in the airport in Philadelphia. Her parents did a better job of picking their passport line, but they did a poor job of getting through security, so we got up with the again after security. That was lucky because Mikael was having a terribly time with the fact that we had to give our big suitcase up again so shortly after reuniting with it. Melody cheered him right up. There was more uga uga and more squealing, and we all set off hand in hand for the long walk from Terminal A to Terminals C (us) and D (them). Sadly, right as we got to terminal C, I figured out that I left my cell phone at the security check point, so we said a hurried good bye and ran all the way back to Terminal A.

Then, since we had some time, we explored the kiddie area that we'd rushed past before. Mikael seemed to like it, although I thought it was only so-so. It was fairly photogenic.

The rest of the trip went unphotographed. Mikael fell asleep right after a fairly greasy breafkast of Chick-Fil-A hash browns and I joined him as soon as we got on the plane. We woke up with just an hour left of the flight, changed clothes, and got ready to see Savta Rina and Saba Emi (details already posted by my dad). However, in an exciting moment, the pilot, Greg, invited us in to see the cockpit. I was really excited: this was one of the key dad moments of my fantasy life. Mikael was sort of freaked out and a little shy. Greg was super-sweet. He even let Mikael try out his hat.

Play-doh

I really love the mood of these two videos of Savta Rina and Mikael enjoying play-doh together.

Dancing with Saba and Savta

Saba Emi put on some of the old greats from Israelis nostalgic past (in Karaoke on the plasma DVD no less) and we all danced around.

Mommy and the corn

My mom and Mikael playing with the artificial vegetables. Mikael really loves taking the two halves of the vegetables apart and he works diligently on putting them back together, but he hasn't quite got it down, yet.
